Kristin Swyers-Hopp is a Family Nurse Practitioner specializing in OB/GYN and Primary Care at Camellia Women’s Health. Kristin hails from the East Coast where she grew up in a small town outside of Buffalo, New York. She has over 25 years of experience on both the administrative and patient care sides of healthcare and has completed clinical rotations in Women’s Health, Pediatrics, Medical-Surgical Nursing, Labor & Delivery and Psychiatric Nursing. She also holds a Master’s degree in Medical Anthropology specializing in International Health & Medicine with a focus on the doctor-patient relationship. Outside of nursing, Kristin has served as a healthcare operations consultant for large for-profit and non-profit healthcare organizations in the Bay Area and across the U.S., worked as a healthcare lobbyist in Washington, D.C., and has also taught as an Associate Professor of Physical Anthropology. Her medical/professional interests include women’s healthcare for low income populations, working with refugee populations, working with adolescent populations , orthopedics, health policy development and medical clinic administration. Her personal interests include women’s healthcare advocacy, international travel, gardening, cooking, reading and spending time with her husband, two children and their various pets
